Ubisoft is one of the biggest publishers in the world, with some of the industry’s biggest franchises and games- from Rayman to Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry to Watch Dogs, Ubisoft is a AAA third party publishing powerhouse. Which is why it matters which system they will push more- it could change the course of the console war. And the system they will push more is the system they do the best on. Which, it seems, judging by their latest financial report, is the PS4.

27% of all Ubisoft software sales come from the PS4 (up from 21% last year for the same period). This marks the second year straight that the PS4 has netted Ubisoft so much software revenue. Interestingly enough, the PS4 is followed up not by the Xbox One, but by the PC, a platform that has traditionally been weak for Ubisoft, owing to their habit of late and often broken releases, hamfisted DRM practices, and of late, their pushing of their own Uplay initiatives.

The Xbox One comes third, at 12% of the total sales, while the PS3 and Xbox 360 are both tied at 9%.

So, you know how Ubisoft abruptly switched course from supporting Microsoft with Assassin’s Creed last year, to Sony this year? Looks like there may have been an actual, tangible reason for that, guys.
